Prairie boys blank Westby

Top seeded Prairie du Chien blanked visiting and fourth seeded Westby 10-0 in five innings in regional baseball action Tuesday afternoon. 

The Blackhawks scored 1 run in the first inning, 1 in the second, 2 in the third, 3 in the fourth and 3 in the fifth to earn the victory. 

Prairie du Chien pounded out 17 hits and committed 1 error. Westby managed 2 hits and committed 2 errors. 

Dylan Yeomans was 3x4 with a double and 3 runs scored for Prairie. Chas Sagedahl was 2x4 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Gavin Gillitzer was 4x4 with a double, a run scored and 3 RBI. Andrew Waller was 2x3 with a double, 2 runs and an RBI. Drake Coleman was 2x2 with an RBI. Hunter Davis was 2x3 with 2 runs and an RBI.

Cory Check allowed only 2 hits and whiffed 5 while giving up no walks in five innings to take the pitching win.

Prairie du Chien improved to 19-2 on the season and will next host Viroqua on May 31.
