Christine M. Cook, 58, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster.

 

Christine was born Feb. 5, 1959, in Black River Falls, the daughter of Robert and Arleen (Lapp) Cook. She graduated from Kickapoo High School in 1979. Later she worked for over 30 years at the Opportunity Center in Prairie du Chien. Christine enjoyed life and socializing with friends, family and complete strangers.

 

Christine is survived by her sisters, Patricia Cook, of Reno, Nev., Linda (James) Schroeder, of Winnebago, Ill., and Carole (Mark) Russ, of Hartville, Wyo.; brothers, Robert (Bernice) Cook, of Naples, Fla., and William (Michele) Cook, of Holmen; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Robert Sieczkowski.

 

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Aug. 6, at 2 p.m., at the Big Spring Congregational Church in Big Spring, with Pastor Bob Brandhagen officiating. Burial will be at the Big Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Opportunity Center would be appreciated.
