She served on the State of Wisconsin Cosmetology Examining Board for several years. She retired from her teaching career after more than 20 years, to then operate a beauty salon in Prairie du Chien.

Geri enjoyed photography, fishing, traveling and spending time with friends and family as well as her special cat, Peaches. She was active as a member of the Big River Long Rifles, Friends of the Villa, and Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church while in Prairie du Chien.

Geri is survived by her brother, Ronald (Doris) Christian, Randolph; her former husband, Kenneth (Sharon) Dearborn, Prairie du Chien; many nieces, nephews and their dear families; and numerous friends from her career, church and hobbies.

Geri was preceded in death by her parents; a brother in infancy; her brother, Merwin (Arlene) Christian; and her sister, Evelyn (Mike) Vander Galien.
