Two Bloomington residents were uninjured when a crash occurred on snowy roads in rural Patch Grove Christmas Eve, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department.

At about 2:30 p.m.,  Danielle Ackerman, 20, was driving a 2001 Buick north on Fairground Road at Humphrey Road when she met a southbound car. With the snow on the road, Ackerman moved to the right in an attempt to avoid hitting the other vehicle. As she did so, the right tires of her car dropped off the paved surface. According to the crash report, she overcorrected, causing the car to cross the west side of the road, leave the roadway and enter a ditch at Humphrey Road. The rear left fender struck a utility pole there and the front of the car struck a stop sign, breaking off the wooden post. The car sustained moderate damage.

Neither Ackerman or her passenger, Brandon Richardson, 22, were injured in the crash. Both were properly restrained in the vehicle at the time of the accident, authorities noted. Ackerman was able to remove the car on her own and went home to Bloomington, where they called the sheriff’s department to report the crash. No citations were issued.
