James Raymond Teaser

James Raymond Teaser, 85, passed away at his home in McGregor, on Dec. 2, after a short illness. 

He was born in southwestern Minnesota on Nov. 16, 1932, at Hunt Hospital in Fairmont, the youngest child of Henry Raymond and Mary Lillian Hines Teaser. Jim grew up on the family farm that was homesteaded by his great-great grandfather, Irish immigrant James Murphy.

Lyle E. Johannsen

 

Lyle E. Johannsen, 87, of Monona, died Friday, Oct. 20, at Good Samaritan Society, Postville. 

 

He was born on Oct. 14, 1930, in Drammen Township near Lake Benton, Minn., to Julius and Emma Johannsen. He graduated from Lake Benton High School in 1948 and attended South Dakota State College. He then joined his father and brother in the farming operation.

Bertha (Becky) Jones

Bertha (Becky) Jones, 90, of McGregor, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Great River Care Center, McGregor. 

Bertha Mae was born on Sept. 9, 1927, to James and Sylvia (Barnhart) Harry in Osterdock. She attended country school.

 

Bertha was united in marriage with Harley C. Jones in 1943. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary. What made her smile were friends, family, hugs and sharing Christ. She enjoyed music, dancing, outdoors, fishing, hunting and family getting together playing cards and jenga.

Mark was born Oct. 11, 1961, to Myron and Judy Marie (Spenler) Abildtrup in Des Moines. He graduated from Mar-Mac High School in 1980.

Lee Allen Johanningmeier, 93, of McGregor, died Monday, Oct. 16, at the Elkader Care Center, Elkader. 

 

Lee Allen was born March 3, 1924, to Arlo H. and Lucy (Mueller) Johanningmeier in McGregor. He graduated from Monona High School in 1941. After graduation Lee Allen joined and proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps.

Eileen A. Ruff, 86, of McGregor, died Monday, Oct. 16, at her home in McGregor, in the care of her family. 

 

Eileen Agnes was born on April 7, 1931, to Lester and Ronilla (Schoulte) Connor in Elkader. She attended Country School, St. Joseph Catholic School, Elkader High School, and graduated from Monona High School in 1948.

Duane Clarence Walter, 87, of McGregor, died Monday, Sept. 25, at Central Community Hospital, Elkader. 

 

Duane was born Nov. 28, 1929, to Clifford and Bertha (Sonstegard) Walter in rural Luana. He attended Eno Country School through the eighth grade. Duane proudly served in the United States Army.
